Just a quick note to say thank you for a lovely day yesterday and thank you Julia for sharing your birthday will all of us. The information that was given to us was unbelievable - you fitted sooo.. much in and Darran's teaching style is wonderful as my husband who does no photography was able to understand most of what was said. Thank you again.

Thankyou for the week on Lord Howe. What a beautiful island. I have only just downloaded all my images onto my computer. I had files everywhere as a result of my computer difficulties on the island.
But now they are all together happily in Lightroom and that is a relief. I have spent some time this week getting on top of my lightroom import problems and now I have it sorted I hope. Thankyou to you and also Phil for all the extra time you put in with getting through the lightroom issues. My main problem was my laptop and when I took it for repair they said I had burnt out the ram which is now replaced. The photos were still on it even though I ahd backed them up also. I have had it fixed but will not use it for photo work again . I plan to buy a new Apple laptop before I next go travelling or do another workshop .
I am thinking of doing Fraser Island and also the print workshop when you ruun it.

WOW! I found the Lord Howe Island WPA Workshop fantastic. It is such a lovely setting for photography and do workshops. As is always the case, I have learnt such a lot, and Darran, thank you so much to both you and Phil for helping me with the Lightroom and downloading issues I was experiencing. The week went so quickly and it was so enjoyable to be able to spend the time totally focused on 'just' imagery ... just a wonderful time away.
Thanks, too, Julia, for all your wonderful organisation - we had a great place to stay, and as usual, flights and transfers all went smoothly - WPA organised adventures are always of the highest standard. I look forward to participating in my next WPA adventure - and hopefully, the computer side of things will begin to become a little easier for me!! Enjoy your week, see you soon, and again, thank you so much.

Hi Darran, Thanks again for a great week on LHI. I got home yesterday and immediately set cleaning up my file storage mess to an organised system!!!!! Also got into finishing the processing which led to a very late night. I took inspiration from Philips black and white show on Saturday and had a go at some myself.

WHAT A MAGIC WEEK!!!
A big thank-you to yourself and your team for a fantastic week on Lord Howe Island. All our travel plans went very smoothly and the accommodation was ideally located and extremely comfortable.
This Island was not high on our must see list. But after seeing it through the lens of our cameras, we found an island full of photographic opportunities. Darren & Phil spent a great deal of time explaining the fundamental settings of our cameras plus which setting to use for the appropriate situation. Ross and I have more confidence (when we can unscramble our brains from all the information) to tackle different projects.
The tutorials on Lightroom helped to make the program seem to be a more logical organizing tool rather than the mess we are in now. Cannot wait, to start getting organized.
You mentioned submitting any future interest in up and coming tours.
Please put both our names down for the
· 2012 French trip with Phil, as this sounds, like a wonderful way to see France with someone who lives there.
· Interested in any Kimberley trips as well.

I hope you were both able to have a relax yesterday afternoon, after such a full weekend of work.
Darran, thank you so much for your patience, persistence and perseverance to see me up and running with computers, Lightroom etc - it felt like a huge boulder had lifted off my shoulders yesterday, - to actually be able to get something up on screen without any issues, was a real win for me, and it is totally thanks to you that that could happen. I was also most appreciative for the extra help on Friday, too. Can't wait, now, for Lamington!

To yourself and your good lady, my sincere thanks for your hospitality. It's no small thing in this day and age to open your house to folk in the manner that you did, and it was greatly appreciated. I've been to several workshops in my time - including one run by Adobe, a Level 1 Photoshop course - and I learned more over this weekend than I would have in any other three workshops. To have someone with such a great depth of knowledge and an approachable manner so readily accessable for a couple of days was marvellous, and I'm sure that the standard of my work will improve to reflect that. Here's hoping, anyway...
I hope we get the chance to meet again. The next time we're at dinner, the first round is on me!
